HOURS:
The Athenĉum is open Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The
building is closed on national holidays as well as Good Friday, the
day following Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve day. Appointments for research or tours of the building are
required and may be made in writing or by telephone. Valid
photo identification is required when registering. Contact the following

LOCATION AND PARKING:
The Athenĉum is located on the east side of Washington
Square at 219 South Sixth Street, half a city block south of
Independence Square. The building is within easy walking distance of
both bus and subway transportation. There are two parking garages
half a block south of the Athenĉum on Sixth Street; both are
connected to high-rise condominium buildings. The Independence Place
garage (east side) is a self-park facility. The Hopkinson House
garage (west side) offers valet parking.
